Book one in the Kings of Bedlam series
Guilt kept him away from Santana for years, but once he has her, he’ll let no one stand in his way from keeping her.
As the only child of an abusive biker and an alcoholic mother, Santana Rogers had one hero she could turn to in her life. Stake Wills, a member of the Kings of Bedlam Motorcycle Club, was her father’s best friend, her savior and her lifelong crush. When her father is sent to prison, the club and her only friends turn their backs on her, leaving her to deal with the fall-out of her father’s crime on her own.
Santana is proud of the way she’s persevered through the hard and lonely years. When Stake reappears in her life after the County Sheriff attacks her, she isn’t sure she’s willing to let him back into her life and her heart. And if she does, she’s not sure she’ll survive having her heart broken again when he inevitably leaves.
It just about killed Stake to walk out of Santana’s life, but after his best friend’s death, he’s forced to choose between the motorcycle club and keeping an eye on Santana. The club is the only family he’s ever known, and a blackmail threat by Santana’s mother threatens to destroy it all. He realizes that he made a mistake, but that won’t stop him from trying to prove to Santana that he’s still the man she needs him to be.
About Carol Lynne
An avid reader for years, one day Carol Lynne decided to write her own brand of erotic romance. Carol juggles between being a full-time mother and a full-time writer. These days, you can usually find Carol either cleaning jelly out of the carpet or nestled in her favourite chair writing steamy love scenes.

And just like that, my fantastic reading streak ended. I give a lot of 5-star reviews, probably too many really but this book barely makes it to a 2 star for me. I seem to have a very different opinion from some of the other readers though so keep in mind that others seemed to love this book. Where do I even begin?**Beware this may contain some spoilers. I say "may" because the plot is so predictable that I do not think this is much of a spoiler. Anyway, the entire premise of this book feels flawed and just wrong. Santana grew up in an abusive household with a drunken mother and a physically abusive father. We later find out from Stake that the father is probably physically abusive to combat his growing sexual attraction to his own daughter since apparently no one can resist our heroine's charms. WTH? Anyway, Smash, her father, gets put in prison for killing a cop to save the club's president. All Santana knows is that everyone in this very small town where she grew up suddenly shuns her to the point that she and her mother practically starve in extreme poverty. We find out later that the people who loved her felt "terrible" that they had to stay away but apparently her alcoholic mother who was accustomed to having her biker husband care for her, blackmailed the club with the threat to tell all their secrets if the club had any contact with them. A bigger WTH? We are to believe that the sleazy alcoholic mother does not want help from the club. Why not? She is accustomed to a biker caring for her. She hardly acknowledges her own daughter so she is certainly not worried about the club's bad influence on Santana. That just makes zero sense. It also makes no sense how Santana is in this small town and yet for a 10-year period runs into Stake only once and her best friend none at all. WTH yet again!! Suddenly when Stake sees her again he decides to leave food for her at her door. Now why, I cannot help but ask myself, did he not do this 10 years earlier? He could have watched over Santana from a distance or helped her anonymously if he was really that afraid of her mother's wrath. The plot basically just annoyed me on so many levels.
Then, after all this time Stake and Santana get together very quickly and a bit of sex seems to happily erase the past for both of them and they move rapidly to the "you're it for me" phase. Really a day after seeing her again they are together full force. Conveniently her mother dies that day and is really never thought of much again. I think you are getting the idea. I thought the dialogue was silly at times. Everything felt rushed and unrealistic. I also hated that Stake kept "tearing up." Now I do not mind if occasionally a hero cries in a super emotionally charged scene but a big tough outlaw biker should not "tear up" multiple times in one book. Ugh.
Bottom-line, I would not like this book even if were part of KU but I certainly, certainly do not think it is even close to being worthy of a $5.50 price tag. I recommend giving this a pass.

The Cut Kings of Bedlam Book 1 edition by Carol Lynne Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Living the Motorcycle Club life is all about brotherhood, loyalty, and family. Oh, and you cannot forget the drama. One day, you are enjoying a BBQ with your family; the next you are shunned from the compound. Santana can attest to this when her world falls apart once her father goes to prison. The only life she has ever known is ripped away from her, along with her knight on shining chrome, Stake.
I have read my fair share of MC romances and I have to admit that some fall short whether it's in the romance part or in the parts of the MC life. Some find it hard to have the right combination of romance and a touch of the darkness that surrounds the club. It is often decided to either go dark or keep it to light; not many have the ability for a happy medium. Carol Lynne did a great job with The Cut.
Although, I sometimes have problems with big age differences especially if one party saw the younger one grow up. With this novel it wasn’t too bad because Santana was much more mature than other kids that ran around the compound. I loved how even though so many people put down Santana and believed she was trash because of her parents, she had an unbreakable spirit. Stake was a hard character to love because he was always on the fence with his loyalty and his need for his lil bug. I was happy when he got his act together by realizing Santana was his future and his loyalty should lie with her.
There was a perfect dose of heat, sweetness, and drama to make a great story. All the characters were enjoyable to read. Mmmm Tiny. I hope Miss Lynne decides to write his story. I also cannot wait to read about Rain and Gypsy. There were also jerk characters that balanced out the good like Gordon, Robbie and even Cecil. Overall, it was a great start to a for sure interesting series. So looking forward to the next novel.
I was given a copy of this book as a gift from The JeepDiva in exchange for an honest review.
It was a pretty good book through most of it. There's some good characters, including ancillary characters that had me interested in going forward. The main characters are pretty good. Santana was interesting until she got with Stake and then she completely lost her backbone except for small glimpses at it. That's kind of when I started to lose interest. I don't mind stories of people with hard backgrounds but I don't like a situation like Santanas where instead of progressing as a character she almost seems to regress to the point she was kind of annoying to me. She was this perpetual victim needing a lot of reassurance.
The writing is good in this book. If they were cheaper I'd probably put this on my list of books that i want to follow the series but I likely won't at this point due to price.
